(ABC4) – Wells Fargo said an issue that prevented thousands of people from accessing its mobile and online banking services on Wednesday morning has been resolved.

Shortly before 8 a.m., users began reporting on downdetector.com that they could not virtually access their accounts, as dunning checks began to hit Wells Fargo and Chase accounts.

Wells Fargo took to Twitter on Wednesday morning after many customers asked them for help, saying, “We apologize to our customers who may be experiencing issues with our online banking this morning due to the high volumes. This does not affect any stimulus payments with an effective date of March 17th that have been credited to the accounts today. Thank you for your patience.”

Shortly after 12:15 pm MT, Ask Wells Fargo, the company’s customer service division, tweeted, “We apologize for the problem we had with our online banking earlier today. Our technical teams fixed the problem and you should now be able to access online banking again. If you continue to have issues, please let us know.

Wells Fargo also posted that if you don’t see your stimulus check in your account today, check the IRS’s Get My Payment tool to determine its status.

According to downdetector.com, Wells Fargo users began reporting issues around 7 a.m. Wednesday, with more than 6,000 reports pouring in around 7:45 a.m. Most of the issues relate to online and mobile banking through Wells. Fargo.

After President Joe Biden signed the latest stimulus package, the American Rescue Plan, enacted last week, Americans began to see $ 1,400 stimulus checks hit their accounts.

According to downdetector.com, Wells Fargo users began reporting outages around 7 a.m. Wednesday, with more than 6,000 reports pouring in around 7:45 a.m.

Downdetector reports that users have the most problems with online and mobile banking through Wells Fargo.
