At around 12:30 p.m., the bank said most customers were able to log in without a hitch. Customer information remains safe and secure, he said. But at 1 p.m., some users were still having issues with their accounts.
At 2:30 p.m., Bank of America said online and mobile services had been fully restored.
More than 10,000 customers reported problems with the bank’s online and mobile services on Friday morning, according to the Downdetector website, which tracks real-time status and outage information for a variety of online services and mobile.
On social networks, several customers have expressed their fears of not being able to access their accounts.
“@BofA_Help Hey, is online banking down or something? Cannot access website or app. A user tweeted to the bank’s help account around 10 a.m.
Others have expressed annoyance that the problem occurs on the first day of the month, when many have bills due or paychecks to cash.
“The Bank Of America app is down and my rent is due today”, one user wrote.
