Hope Foundation invites contributions to help students access online education

As of mid-September, around 1.5 million students were having difficulty accessing online courses, according to the Department for Education and Training.

As the pandemic rages on, students across the country have gone through many periods of remote learning over the past two years. Not everyone has had the chance to take advantage of easy access to online courses. There have been families where siblings have had to choose who will study at home, while others have to run to a neighbor to borrow a cellphone.

“There is not even enough money for daily meals, forget to buy phones and computers to learn online,” said Phan Thi Mai, the mother of a first-grader in the province. by Dong Nai.

Dang Hai, a father in Ho Chi Minh City, shares the riddle.

“I have three children in first, fourth and seventh grade, but there is only one phone. I have asked schools before to let them have lessons at different times, but failed. I don’t know what to do,” he said.

Lack of phones and computers for online classes is a common situation for many families. Their plight is gaining urgency as the coronavirus is unlikely to go away anytime soon and online classes are expected to last a long time.

The program of VnExpress Hope Foundation, called “Computers for Students”, aims to provide tablets, laptops and computers to more than 3,000 students in difficult circumstances.

It will also help families install internet lines and help make online classes more convenient for students and teachers.
