HSBC down as customers can no longer access online banking and apps

Customers trying to access their HSBC online accounts were blocked this morning.

The website and app services appear to be affected, with complaints on Twitter suggesting there are issues with HSBCnet.

DownDetector, a website that tracks which services are having problems, has seen multiple customer reports.

As of around 9 a.m. this morning, around 300 people have complained about the HSBC-related outage, the Mirror reports.

Most of them (63%) relate to online banking that doesn’t work, while 33% relate specifically to connection issues and 4% relate to mobile banking.

A customer @PellsAmanda took to Twitter to ask, “Is HSBCnet down? We can’t connect!

Another @Lemoney_b replied, “No chance Amanda? I have the same problem and am currently on hold with HSBCnet help desk. “

A third said: “Bad morning! I lost count of the number of times I had to try to log in. “

While someone else tweeted, “Is there something wrong with HSBCnet this morning? I can’t connect anywhere … “

An HSBC UK spokesperson: “Account access issues experienced by some business clients lasted less than half an hour, although some intermittent issues remain and clients may need to try again, we are working to resolve these residual problems.

“We apologize for any inconvenience caused.”
