HSBC down: Customers cannot access mobile app and online banking

HSBC customers reported problems trying to access online banking, mobile banking, business banking and more this morning – with the banking app apparently down.

There are no issues with retail banking customers and service is being restored.

Downdetector has logged over 700 outage reports this morning.

Issues have also been reported with accessing online chat and accessing services.

Some took to social media to vent their frustration when one user wrote, “I couldn’t log in this morning.”

While another said: “I can’t log into my business internet banking today, ‘Something went wrong’ he said.”

Another added: ‘Is the business down? I need to pay my staff and I can’t access the desktop or mobile banking app, the server is unavailable and the help isn’t working either?

One wrote: “Is your whole system down? Unable to log in or get online help or mobile banking app.

HSBC said in a statement: “We are currently seeing some business customers having difficulty logging into their account.

“We are aware of the issue and are working on a fix urgently. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.”
