Customers mentioned problems with online money transfer before Christmas.
One customer tweeted: “@AskNationwide Hi, is there a time frame for the payment issue to be resolved? I waited all day, it’s not fair, especially before the Christmas people had Christmas shopping to do.
On the website, Nationwide advises customers: “Sorry for any trouble this may cause. We are working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible.”
Reports about Down Detector began to appear shortly before 1 p.m.
