This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development, delivery and review of King’s College London MSc / PG Dip / PG Cert distance learning programs in Psychology and neurosciences of mental health and Applied Neurosciences with the aim of ensuring a high standard of education and results for students. The incumbent will play a critical role in the organization and delivery of our online training portfolio in the areas of Neuroscience, Psychology and Mental Health. They will undertake online teaching activities on the above programs and contribute to the development, administration, delivery, assessment and improvement of the taught modules. The successful candidate will oversee online research projects and assume administrative responsibilities as well as supervisory/pastoral activities for students.
This position will be offered on a permanent contract.

Main responsibilities
Education:
• Contribute to activities related to online education (teaching, tutoring, supervision, leadership and innovation in education and administration)
• Contribute to high-quality, research-driven online education with favorable student feedback
• Propose and supervise online research projects
• Contribute to the development and integration of innovative digital education as well as effective and inclusive assessment strategies
• Engage with the student body to ensure a high level of student satisfaction
• Show commitment to improving teaching methods and taking on more complex roles related to education
• Provide feedback on program admissions, recruitment activities, assessment, and other aspects of educational activity, as reasonably requested by the Program Manager
Educational research, scholarships, knowledge exchange and impact:
• Dissemination of innovations and educational initiatives at the departmental, divisional and college level
• Reflective practice and communication of scholarship in education, through peer engagement, publication or conferences
Academic citizenship, management and leadership:
• Adhere to faculty and college guidelines and regulations, implementing new requirements as they arise and incorporating best practices from the wider higher education sector
• Perform academic and administrative tasks at a high level (module leadership, admissions, marketing, exams)
• Provide leadership and management of teaching fellows
• Work with colleagues on common projects and lead teams as needed
• Enable a diverse and inclusive work and education environment in accordance with Faculty policies
Professional activities:
• Act as referee and contribute to peer review and mentor training sessions
• Attend and participate in appropriate seminars/conferences with subject related areas
• Participate in professional development activities, as appropriate
• Undertake any other reasonable duties that may be requested by the Program Manager and/or Head of Department

Skills, knowledge and experience
Essential criteria:
1. PhD in Psychology, Neuroscience or related field
2. Experience and ability to design content, develop and deliver high quality teaching in psychology, neuroscience and research methods at postgraduate level
3. Demonstration of appropriate subject knowledge enabling delivery of instruction in more than one module (including Psychology, Neuroscience and Research Methods modules)
4. Experience and ability to support and guide postgraduate students through supervision and tutoring
5. Experience in managing and delivering projects within agreed timelines
6. Understanding and experience of distance education/online education
7. Skills in moderating discussion forums, providing feedback to students and grading work at level 7
8. Excellent oral and written communication skills
9. Experience developing and delivering excellent teaching in psychology and/or neuroscience
10. Ability to develop creative and inclusive teaching and innovative assessment methods
11. Excellent IT skills including knowledge of creating and delivering courses on Moodle or similar VLE
12. Experience in the academic orientation of students
13. Ability to interact effectively with staff and students at all levels
14. Evidence of strong personal motivation and ability to organize, plan and prioritize workload
15. Demonstrable understanding and commitment to working within the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion
Desirable criteria:
1. Academy of Higher Education scholarship or equivalent teaching qualification (e.g. PGCAPHE or PGCHE)
