Do you have an account at State Bank of India (SBI)? So you must read up on this news. SBI has added a new feature to its Yono Lite app to make online banking more secure for its customers. The State Bank of India has added a new feature to its Yono Lite app called SIM Link.

“Online banking is now more secure than ever with SBI! Download the latest YONO Lite app now, ”SBI informed customers via a tweet.

Amid the increase in fraud in online transactions, this new feature will add a layer of security and customers will be able to conduct financial and non-financial transactions securely. However, to continue using the SBI Yono Lite, customers need to update their existing application.

Yono Lite: SIM link function

The SIM link is a new technology that allows only one user per device with a registered mobile number for online transactions. It makes online banking safer than ever. SBI customers need to update the Yono Lite app version 5.3.48 and go through a one-time registration process with the registered mobile number available on your phone.

New registration process for SBI clients for the Yono Lite app?

Registration procedure: Android

• Download and open the YONO Lite SBI APP from Play Store, select SIM 1 or SIM 2, which is registered with SBI to complete the registration process. No SIM selection required for single SIM.
• A message will be displayed on the screen concerning the sending of an SMS from the device to validate the mobile number.
• Click on the “Continue” button and an SMS containing a unique code will be sent from the device to a predefined number. Please note that for sending SMS, standard SMS charges apply depending on your SMS package.
• On the registration screen, enter the username and password and click on the REGISTER button.
• Accept the general conditions of registration by checking the box and clicking on the ‘Ok’ button.
• After that, an activation code will be sent to the registered mobile number. This activation code will be valid for 30 minutes.
• The user must complete the activation by entering the activation code in the app.
• The user can now log into the YONO Lite app.

Registration process: iOS

• Download and open the YONO Lite app from the App Store. A message will be displayed concerning the sending of an SMS from the device to validate the mobile number.
• Click on the “Proceed” button, a unique code will be automatically filled in in the default SMS application with a predefined number. The user must send the SMS within 30 seconds from the phone number linked to the SBI account to continue. Please note that for sending SMS, standard SMS charges apply depending on your SMS package.
• On the registration screen, enter the username and password and click on the REGISTER button.
• Accept the general conditions of registration by checking the box and clicking on the “OK” button.
• After that, an activation code will be sent to the registered mobile number.
• The user must complete the activation by entering the activation code in the app.
• The user can now log into the YONO Lite app.
